International Academic Conference on Precision Oncology held in Suining
On October 10 2018, the International Academic Conference on Precision Oncology was held on schedule in Suining Dongxu Jinjiang International Hotel with the aim to implement the "Healthy China" strategy and promote the concepts of precision medicine.
The conference was hosted by Sichuan Provincial Hospital Association and organized by Suining Central Hospital, J. Michael Bishop Institute of Cancer Research, and Suining Research Center for Big Data in Health and Medicine of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. At the conference, Luo Hui, Standing Committee member of Suining Municipal Committee of the CPC and Vice Mayor of Suining Municipal People's Government, and Chen Yongjun, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Suining Central Hospital, delivered a speech respectively. More than 200 representatives from local hospitals and others in Sichuan Province attended the conference.
Headed by Prof. Michael Bishop, winner of Nobel Prize in medicine and physiology, 7 internationally well-known experts including Scott Kogan, professor of Hematopathology at the University of California, San Francisco, Prof. Alana Welm of the University of Utah, and Prof. Dean Felsher of Stanford University gave lectures on the topics of "Personalized/Precision Medicine and Cancer", "Reconsidering Carcinogenesis in the Age of Epigenetics", "Patient-derived Xenografts and Organoids to Predict Therapeutic Response for Breast Cancer Patients", and "Modelling and Predicting Oncogene Addiction", etc., in which key issues in precision oncology were elaborated on and exchanged. With their research findings, the speakers brought the attendees a high-level and high-quality academic feast.
